Lisa grew up exploring Northern California with a sketchbook in hand. She earned a Bachelor’s in Environmental Policy from UC Davis, often handing in waterway and species reports with illustrations. Her love for art and natural science developed further in her work as a designer for the California State Parks Department, where she also learned about the system management that preserves and protects our wild spaces. She teaches often, to both youth and adults, and enjoys helping her students develop their own interdisciplinary practices. In 2024, Lisa earned a certificate from the Denver School of Botanical Art & Illustration. Her plein air practice is currently taking on new forms as she focuses on large living space and outdoor murals. She lives with her husband and carves out studio time between Northern California and Colorado, often with a grandkid or two painting beside her.
